Grading with rubrics

Before getting started

Rubric grading comes after importing exam papers. If you haven't imported your exam papers yet, check out Importing handwritten answers and Importing scanned bubble sheets for more information.

What are rubrics?

A rubric is a grading guide that makes explicit the criteria for judging students' work. For example, if you have an essay question, you might have the following rubrics:

  • 10 points: for the perfect answer.
  • -3 points: for deviating from the topic.
  • -2 points: for reptitive sentences.

By default, OpExams adds a rubric for the full scroe and a rubric for 0 points.

How to use rubrics?

When you're grading method is set to groups, the rubric item will apply to all answers in the group.
